Hackettstown Community Hospital’s Modernization Program was intended to change not only the Hospital’s appearance but to become the source of healthcare for the entire community.
The four story 65,000 square foot addition included state of the art Intensive care unit, step down unit, Ambulatory surgery unit with new Operating and Endoscopy rooms.
The new Radiology area was designed and built to incorporate the latest in X-ray and Ultrasound equipment. The new entrance at the south end of the building allows for the patients and visitors to move through the hospital from the reception / registration area to the main elevators that distribute through the hospital at the core of all the main areas.

• 2 New operating rooms and 16-bed post-op recovery unit
• 3 New endoscopy surgery rooms
• 8-bed ICU and 21-bed step-down unit
• New Radiology wing
• Renovation of Central Sterile unit doubling in size the existing unit
• Cardiac care unit
• New registration and reception areas
• New automated building control system throughout
• Upgraded site including 350 new parking spaces
• Renovation of labor and delivery areas
• New nurse call systems throughout existing building
• New on-call area
• New HVAC systems throughout existing building
• New main entrance and waiting area
